COVID-19 update 5th April 2021
We remain open during all Tiers 1, 2, 3, 4, or National Lockdown.
However, some of our services are unfortunately affected by COVID19 Government restrictions.
PERMITTED: Fortunately Physiotherapy and Sports Therapy services can continue even during National Lockdowns, but, the following services are prohibited during Tier 4 and National Lockdowns:
NOT PERMITTED: Sports Massage, Pilates Classes, Pilates 1:1 classes, Sports Rehab classes, Sports Rehab Personal training 1:1, our Rehab Gym remains CLOSED.
UPDATE: 5th April 2021
From the 12th April 2021 we will once again be permitted to offer Sports Massage treatments and 1to1 Pilates and Sports Rehab sessions. Kieran and Harriet’s diaries are now OPEN for Sports Massage bookings, and Kieran is again able to offer Sports Rehab 1:1 PT bookings. Steph, Harriet and Neone will also be able to provide one to one pilates sessions from 12th April 2021.
COVID19 SECURE & SAFE:
We want to re-assure all patients that we remain COVID secure and pride ourselves on the COVID19 health and safety guidelines and procedures that remain in place. To protect not only our staff, but also our patients. Once way system, social distancing, maximum number of people in the clinic at one time, hand sanitisation, face mask wearing, and full PPE that the clinicians wear. We use UV-C light at the end of each day to kill all bacteria and Viruses in treatment rooms and Reception areas.
REMOTE RECEPTION SERVICES:
Our administration and reception team will return to working in the clinic from the 12th April 2021.
PRE-BOOK APPOINTMENTS:
Please pre-book appointments, walk-in appointments are prohibited. All patients must be risk assessed prior to attending an appointment.
On the 23rd March we closed both our Bicester & Cheltenham Physio clinics, ceasing face-to-face appointments in order to protect our clients, our team and to stop the spread of COVID-19. This was advised by our professional governing body the CSP, PHE, Physio First and HCPC.
With the recent changes announced by the government on the 10th May, the CSP have revised their initial recommendation and have now advised that private musculoskeletal physiotherapy clinics may open under specific protocols and procedures; therefore, both of the Pea Green Physio clinics, in Bicester and Cheltenham will be open for face-to-face consultations from Monday 1st June for patients in need.
This is defined where both the patient and their therapist feels that hands on treatment is required. This will be determined by an initial virtual triage via telephone or zoom, if the patient has progressively worsening symptoms or escalating pain that is not responding to conservative self care guided by virtual online consultations, then the patient will be booked in for face-to-face and hands-on treatment. Online consultations will still be available for patients who prefer not to have a face- to-face appointment.
COVID-19 POLICY, PROCEDURES & RISK ASSESSMENTS:
We are currently very busy setting up strict procedures sand protocols, allowing us to confidently and safely deliver treatment to patients that need it, under a phased re-opening.
Although we will not be be treating patients with confirmed COVID-19, we are taking a thorough approach with our protocols and risk assessing to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
VIRTUAL FIRST:
By using a combination of virtual first, to triage patients prior to booking face-to-face consultations, screening questions to ensure that patients and family or household members have not, and currently do not have any COVID-19 symptoms, or within the past 2 weeks.
Please note that all patients MUST first complete a FREE virtual online 5 minute triage with their therapist before booking a face-to-face consultation.
ARRIVAL AT THE CLINIC:
An infrared body thermometer will be used to check your temperature upon arrival at the clinic. You’ll be asked to wear a face mask throughout your time in the clinic, and be required to sanitise your hands thoroughly upon arrival and departure.
SOCIAL DISTANCING & PPE:
Only one practitioner and one admin team member will be working at any one time, we are fortunate enough to have a one way system and plenty of space to respect social distancing within the clinics, we have a separate entrance and exit.
Appointments will be well spaced to ensure there is no cross over of patients, rooms and equipment will be disinfected between clients. Therapists will change their PPE and thoroughly hand wash between clients. The full compliment of PPE that the therapist will wear are: face mask, visor or goggles, disposable apron and disposable gloves.
We feel that we are doing everything that we can to minimise risks and make your treatment at Pea Green Physio as safe as possible.

Everyone MUST complete a FREE 5 minute Triage prior to booking a face-to-face consultation.
But, if you wish to continue with virtual consultations instead of face-to-face consultations, due to being in the high risk category for COVID19 or are shielding or have recently been diagnosed with COVID19. We have a few options for virtual consultations here:
Virtual Consultation Fees:
20 mins £25.00 Existing patient, existing problem, injury check up.
30 mins £30.00 Existing patient, but a NEW problem.
40 mins £35.00 NEW patients.
INSURANCE:
Some insurance companies are happy to pay for the online consultations, please check with your provider before booking. Face-to-face consultation prices remain unchanged.
